The next-generation Skoda Fabia hatchback’s engine line up has been revealed ahead of its probable debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. We already know what the car will look like thanks to a host of spy shots. It will be offered with two petrol and one diesel engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox as standard or a DSG double clutch unit (petrol only).
The petrol engine line-up includes a 1.0-litre three cylinder unit and a 1.2-litre four cylinder unit. They will have outputs ranging from 60bhp to 110bhp and will be offered with either the five-speed manual or the seven-speed DSG.
The diesel is the 1.4-litre three-cylinder unit that will be offered in various states of tune ranging from 75bhp to 105bhp. There will also be a Greenline diesel unit which will debut by the end of 2015 and will be fitted with start/stop, energy recuperation and low rolling resistance tyres.
We, in India, will get the 1.2-litre petrol unit as well as the 1.4-litre diesel unit. The next-gen Skoda Fabia will debut in India next year and be launched in the B+ segment. A facelifted Fabia means there will also be a new Rapid sedan for the Indian market.
