Maruti Suzuki Swift is a superstar for the Indian carmaker though it has gone under the knife once for a mild cosmetic upgrade. Next year, the Swift hatchback is all geared up to carry a more aggressive and bolder stance than the current generation.
Maruti Suzuki has not revealed the mechanical details for the vehicle yet, however, we anticipate that the vehicle will get the current 1248cc diesel engine with 74bhp and the near 85bhp 1197cc petrol engine. To stir up competition, Maruti Suzuki might also offer the 1.0-litre turbocharged (Boosterjet) petrol engine on the new Swift that might get the RS identity.

The test mule spotted internationally though was heavily camouflaged, it still looks similar to the leaked sketches that was carried by us last month. The side profile looks mostly unchanged but will get a blackened A-pillar and half blackened C-pillar with integrated door handles. As for the front design, the new hatchback will get a new bumper, new headlamps, a bolder bonnet and a new grille and with a complete the outside revision, the vehicle will get new tail lamps, rear bumper and roof spoiler. The one spotted on test featured steel wheels, but we expect that the production variant will get alloys wheel, at least for the top of the line ‘Z’ variant.
The next-gen Swift will also feature ORVMs with integrated turn indicators. Expect them to get fold function in the most expensive version. The hatchback will also get revised interiors that will feature a new dashboard with new AC vents and a redesigned instrument cluster. It will also get a new multifunctional three-spoke steering wheel, revised climate control system interface and a new touchscreen infotainment system.
