The next-gen Ford Bronco has been caught on camera and what you see here are the first images of the prototype undergoing testing. Although it may look like an Everest (Endeavour for India), the prototype hides the underpinnings for the all-new Bronco.
Our sources also confirmed that the prototypes of the new Ranger pick-up were spotted running alongside the Bronco test mule. Both these upcoming models are expected to share plenty of running gear and powertrain bits.
The Bronco name will return after a 20-plus year hiatus. Fans of this rugged off-roader would be pleased to know that the Everest-based successor will be built in Michigan with a wide variety of engine options. Besides EcoBoost four and six cylinder petrol motors, the next-gen Bronco is likely to receive diesel and hybrid powertrain options.
We expect to see the new Bronco in all its glory in 2019, mostly at a major American auto show. When launched, it will compete against the likes of the Jeep Wrangler and the Toyota 4Runner.
