These are our first clear shots of the next-gen Audi A7 in production form. Now it’s been said that Audi has no plans to significantly change the A7’s appearance and the prototype seen here reveals that the brand will stick to the low-slung silhouette that defined the model.
That said, the next-gen A7 will get a sharper fascia, an all-new interior design and of course, new platform and engine options.
While the design will be more evolutionary than revolutionary, the next-gen A7 will be built around the new MLB Evo platform, which was first introduced in the second-gen Q7. The next-gen A8 will also use this light-weight platform which will make the new A7 lighter, more agile and more fuel efficient.
Meanwhile, the updated range of engines will also add more efficiency. The A7 is expected to come with the same set of engines as the upcoming A8 which will probably share a few engines with the Q7.
The next-gen A7 will compete with similarly sized and styled cars like the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe and the Mercedes-Benz CLS.
