Back in April, the second-generation Ertiga MPV was revealed in Indonesia. Due for an India debut later this year, the automatic petrol variant of the new generation Ertiga has been spotted on test in India. Along with fresh cosmetic and feature upgrades, the new model will also get a new 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options.
Under the hood, the upcoming new-generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will be powered by a new 1.5-litre petrol engine that will generate around 101bhp of power. The new petrol will replace the existing 1.4-litre that generates 94bhp of power. As seen in images, it will be offered with a four-speed automatic gearbox. The diesel version will also be offered with a 1.5-litre diesel engine as a replacement to the existing 1.3 diesel. Both the variants are expected to be offered with a six-speed manual transmission that will come as a replacement to the existing five-speed manual transmission. Diesel might be offered with an automatic transmission at a later date.
The new-generation Ertiga features fresh cosmetic upgrades in the form of a new grille with projector headlamps, redesigned front bumper, LED DRLs and high-mounted LED stop lamps. As for the interior, the MPV will be offered with a dual tone interior combination and larger horizontal aircon vents. The car will also feature touchscreen infotainment system, three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, twin-pod instrument cluster and automatic climate control. The vehicle will be available in seven-seat and six-seat layout options.
