Chevrolet Corvette, the popular aspirational car among car enthusiasts, will be seen in its latest avatar on 18 July, 2019. The new-generation mid-engine Corvette has progressed from its traditional lines and now shares resemblance with the Ferrari under the camouflage. Codenamed the C8, the new-gen Chevrolet Corvette was spied testing in Nurburgring. It is believed that the new Corvette is likely to be called the Zora, as a tribute to Zora Arkus Duntov, the founding father of Corvette.
Chevrolet has not revealed any technical details about the new-gen Corvette yet. However, it is believed that the sports car is likely to be powered by the 6.2-litre V8 engine from the C7. The powerful engine will come mated to an automatic Tremec supplied dual-clutch unit. The new model is expected to be built at the Bowling Green plant in Kentucky. The 800 million dollar investment in the facility is expected to shape the production for this new mid-engine Corvette.
More details about the new generation Corvette will be known post its official unveiling next week.
