The BMW 3 Series, a popular model from the German car manufacturer is due for its India launch in its seventh-generation avatar sometime in mid-2019. Ahead of the official debut later this year, the vehicle has been spotted testing in the country. The new 3 Series will be one of the 12 new models to be introduced in India in 2019.
The upcoming new BMW 3 Series is believed to be lighter by about 55kgs and has outgrown in dimensions as compared to its predecessor. The new BMW 3-Series is now 76mm longer at 4709 mm, 16mm wider at 1827mm and stands just 1mm taller at 1441 mm. The wheelbase in the new model has been increased by 41mm and it now measures 2851mm. The test mule was spotted riding on global-spec 19-inch wheels.
Under the hood, the new BMW 3 Series will be powered by a 2.0-litre engine in 330i petrol and 320d diesel guise. Both the trims can be had with an eight-speed automatic gearbox option which powers the rear wheels. The new model will also get all modern safety features like multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold and more.
In terms of design, the new BMW 3 Series gets an edgier look with a sharply sculpted bonnet, LED headlights and sleek L-shaped LED tail lamps. This time around, the new model will get a more pronounced profile. As for features, the new-generation 3 Series is expected to get a twin-pipe exhaust system, 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, heads-up display, BMW iDrive 7.0, 10.25-inch touchscreen and personal intelligent assistant.
