The international spec second-generation Audi Q3 has scored a full five stars at the Euro NCAP. The updated version of the popular SUV which was showcased a couple of months ago internationally has scored 95 per cent in adult protection and 86 per cent for child occupant protection. The SUV has earned 85 per cent in terms of safety assist system.

The vehicle was subjected to two side crash tests - side barrier impact crash tests and the side pole test. The test revealed that the head restraints offered adequate protection against whiplash injuries in case of rear-end collision. The test also revealed good protection to the legs of the driver and the passenger. Moreover, in the rigid barrier test, the vehicle offered good protection to the chest of both the driver and rear passenger, and ample protection of all other critical body areas.

In terms of child protection, the vehicle offered good protection to critical body parts during the frontal offset and the side barrier crash tests. The front passenger airbag can be disabled to allow rearward-facing child restraint to be used in the seating position. The vehicle also offers adequate pedestrian protection.
