The new Volkswagen Beetle has been spotted at a dealership stockyard ahead of its official debut but is yet to make its way to the showrooms. Our sources have revealed that the car is likely to arrive for display once the official launch has taken place on December 19.
The car spotted in the stockyard is very similar to the one we drove in Germany. Externally it gets the projector headlights with LED DRLs, colour and design scheme as well as the multi-spoke alloy wheels. The cabin gets bits from across the VW range but with speciality touches like the traditional dash-mounted glove box and colour inserts in the steering wheel as seats.
The India-spec 2016 Beetle will be offered with a 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 147bhp and is mated to a seven-speed DSG that sends power to the front wheels. It will be offered in four colours that includes blue, orange, red and white.
