- This is the fifth generation Supra
- Might get turbocharged engines from BMW
The new 2019 Supra has finally been spied undisguised. Supra MkV forum managed to get a clear front image of the upcoming sportscar from Toyota. Looking at the car, one immediately reminisces the 2014 FT-1 concept. Even the double bubble roof from the concept has been retained. However, the nose design has become more subtle and the engine does not have the glass cover from the concept. Considering its based so heavily on the BMW Z4, it's hard to spot any similarities whatsoever.
The insides however will resemble a lot of the Z4 considering the large amount of switchgear and electronics shared between the two. Both the cars will be built on the same production line by Magna Steyr in Austria.
Engines could be turbocharged four and six cylinder units from BMW with power outputs ranging between 200 to 335bhp. The new Supra will debut at the 2019 Detroit Motor Show in mid-January.
