Although the next-gen Toyota Prius arrived earlier this year, engineers are now going full throttle on developing the second generation Prius+ MPV.
The family model is scheduled for a 2018 reveal and a 2019 market launch. Our spies have now snapped a pre-production mule undergoing tests at the Nurburgring race track in Germany. The prototype wears the front of the new Prius, combined with parts of the Lexus NX and fake tail lights.Â
We expect the production model to look more extreme, likely along the lines of the Prius hatch. Power will come from a petrol-electric hybrid with a combined output of over 100bhp.Â
