The arrival of the all-new Hyundai Santro has certainly spiced up the entry-level small car segment. Barely a few weeks after the launch of the much anticipated model, Tata Motors has retaliated and upped the ante by introducing a new top-spec variant of the Tiago. Priced between Rs 5.57 lakhs and Rs 6.38 lakhs ex-showroom, the new XZ+ variant adds plenty of useful features as standard.
On the outside, the Tiago XZ+ comes with a dual-tone exterior option which includes a gloss black roof and spoiler. This option comes in at a small premium over the XZ+. The other big changes are the bigger 15-inch dual tone alloy wheels from the Tigor which are available on the petrol Tiago XZ+. The latter also gets chrome accents on the tailgate for that premium look. Speaking of premium, the other feature that’s straight off the more expensive Tigor are the smart looking projector headlamps with smoked black bezel which considerably improve the road presence. Rounding off the exterior upgrades, the Tiago XZ+ adds two new colour options – orange and blue.
Inside, the biggest additions to the XZ+ are the seven-inch touchscreen infotainment display by Harman and automatic climate control. The former gets Android Auto and voice command, however, there is no Apple CarPlay. The other useful additions are the powered mirrors which can be retracted electrically.
There are no mechanical changes for the Tiago XZ+, you still get the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.05-litre diesel engine options. The five-speed AMT is unavailable on this top-end variant. Instead, you get the standard five-speed manual in both petrol and diesel versions.
On sale from 12 December 2018 across all Tata dealerships, the Tiago XZ+ is being offered in both single and dual tone colour options. The specification wise ex-showroom Delhi prices are listed below.
XZ+ Petrol Single Tone – Rs 5.57 lakhs
XZ+ Petrol Dual Tone – Rs 5.64 lakhs
