Tata has released a teaser image for the 45X hatchback and has hinted that it will be named after sea bird that flies over long distances. Sources indicate that this car will be called the Altroz because Tata has officially registered the name.
Showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in concept form as the 45X, the Altroz is a new premium hatchback that will be Tata’s competitor for the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz, Hyundai Elite i20 and the Volkswagen Polo. It is expected to first be launched in India later this year before possibly being introduced for European markets.
There are a wide variety of stories going around about the 45X including the fact that it will get a mild-hybrid system and full details about the car will be revealed on 5th March on day one of the Geneva Motor Show.
