Launched earlier this month in the UK, the new Suzuki Vitara has just been given a 5-star overall safety rating from Euro NCAP. Suzuki says its compact SUV is also the first of its kind to score five stars in the more rigorous 2015 Euro NCAP testing programme which further reinforces the exemplary level of safety.
The Vitara managed to score high in all four areas of assessment including adults and children, pedestrian protection, and supporting safety systems. The standard safety equipment on the SUV includes seven airbags which includes a driver’s knee airbag as well as seat belt pre-tensioners and force limiters.
The Suzuki Vitara is now on sale in the UK with prices starting at £13,999 (Rs 13.24 lakh) for the entry-level SZ4 1.6-litre petrol model with two-wheel-drive. The SUV recently made its Chinese debut at the Auto Shanghai 2015.
