Having made its global debut in Detroit earlier this year, the new Subaru WRX STI has now arrived at the ongoing Geneva motor Show to mark its European debut. Set to go on sale in the UK from May 1 onwards, Subaru UK has revealed that the demand for this new model has been strong with the first allocation of cars already reserved.
A year after the earlier generation model was withdrawn from the market; the new Subaru WRX STI has arrived and is priced £4,000 (Rs 4.09 lakh) lower than its predecessor thanks to changes in currency exchange rates.
Subaru claims they have made a significant range of enhancements to the chassis, interior and packaging of the new STI. Sporting an all new exterior, the new WRX STI benefits from significantly stiffened mechanicals. Inside, the new WRX STI is roomier than the older model with its extended wheelbase. The boot space, too has increased by 40 litres, making the new model more practical than ever before.
Under the hood sits a 2.5-litre turbocharged version of Subaru’s iconic four-cylinder Boxer engine. Producing 300bhp and 407Nm of torque, the four-pot unit is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox for an enhanced driving experience.
