Not much is visible in these early shots but Czech automaker Skoda is apparently working on a facelift for the Superb. Like the current model, the facelifted version of this flagship vehicle will be offered in both sedan and estate form.
Come early 2019 and the Superb range will get a new design language and also Skoda’s first electrified powertrain – a plug-in hybrid system based around the VW Passat GTE. That means a 154bhp, 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbo with an electric motor and 6-speed automatic gearbox for a total of 215bhp. The car will have an EV-only range of 50 kilometres.
If you closely view the area between the headlamp units and the grille it looks like this area might be designed differently from the existing model. Apart from that (including the bumpers) not much seems to have changed for now. We will have to wait for further development on the new Superb for more details.
