The new Renault Megane RS has been teased ahead of its debut on 26 May. The hot hatch will break cover during the Monaco Formula One weekend at the hands of Renault factory works friver, Nico Hulkenberg.
The teaser image reveals an aggressively designed front end with unique daytime running lights on the front bumper. The grille gets a quintessential Renault design. A Renault head honcho was quoted as saying that the new Megane RS will churn out 300bhp, although the engine configuration is still a mystery. Reports suggest that it might get a more powerful version of the 1.8-litre four-pot motor from the Alpine A110.
The Megane RS will continue as a front-wheel-drive hatch. One new update will be the EDC dual-clutch automatic gearbox from the Clio RS, though a six-speed manual box will also be offered in as an option.
Post its unveiling at Monaco, the Megane RS will be showcased directly at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
