-Launch expected in 2025
-Likely to get a seven-seat version as well
Renault has finally begun testing the new-gen Duster on Indian streets ahead of its launch which could take place sometime next year. The test mule in question was fully covered in camouflage, with key details such as the rear door handles and taillight design confirming the make and model.
As seen in the spy shots, the 2025 Duster will remain largely identical to the global-spec car. Notable elements include C-pillar-mounted rear door handles, C-shaped taillights, body cladding on either side, new dual-tone alloy wheels, roof-rails, integrated spoiler, and a fresh rear bumper with horizontally positioned reflectors. Elsewhere, it will get a chunky plastic insert on the front doors, Y-shaped LED DRLs, new grille, large skid plate upfront, and air vents on either side of the front bumper.
Inside, the new Renault Duster is expected to feature an all-new interior with a fresh three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, large freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, stubby gear lever, fully digital instrument console, 360-degree camera, and fresh upholstery.
Under the hood, the upcoming iteration of the Duster is likely to be powered by 1.2-litre and 1.6-litre petrol-hybrid engines. Globally, the mid-size SUV gets a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with LPG compatibility in addition to the aforementioned powertrains. The 2025 Duster, upon arrival in a new avatar, will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, and the Volkswagen Taigun. Notably, the carmaker is also working on a seven-seat version of the mid-size SUV, details of which are available on our website.
