The new Mitsubishi Outlander has been launched in India for a price of Rs 31.84 lakhs (ex-showroom, all India). The third generation model is limited to a petrol engine and competes against the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the recently launched Skoda Kodiaq in India. Prior to its India debut, the vehicle has been on sale in the international market since 2015.
Under the hood, the new Mitsubishi Outlander is powered by a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that generates 164bhp of power and 222Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a six-speed CVT automatic which powers all four wheels. Limited to a single top-spec variant it comes loaded with features such as leather upholstery, electrically powered seat with heating and height adjustment, seatbelt pre-tensioners, ISOFIX, and sunroof. The SUV also gets a 6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control and a 710-watt Rockford Fosgate sound system.
Based on the new “Dynamic Shield” design philosophy, the vehicle appears sharper and more aerodynamic than its predecessor. The revised headlights feature a full-LED setup with LED DRLs. In terms of safety, it gets seven airbags as standard with ABS and EBD, active stability control (ASC), hill start assist (HSA).
