-Unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo
-Second generation model
- Variants include Cooper S, Cooper SD and Cooper S JCW
The Mini Countryman will be offered in India in three variants- Cooper S, Cooper SD and a sporty Cooper S JCW Inspired. The Automaker showcased the second generation car at the 2018 Auto Expo and has already announced that it will locally assemble the car which we expect to be the Cooper SD.Â
This second generation Countryman is bigger than its predecessor across all dimensions, thereby affording more space inside. The feature list has been upgraded and a larger list of equipment is now available as standard. We have spoken in detail about the updates to Countryman and you can read about that here.
The Cooper S and S JCW Inspired are powered by a 2.0-litre petrol motor producing 192bhp/280Nm while the Cooper SD will also get a 2.0-litre motor but producing 190bhp/400Nm. All three cars get a eight-speed steptronic transmission.
The car will be launched in India later this year and take on the likes of the Volvo V40 Cross Country, Mercedes-Benz B-Class and Audi A3.
