New MINI Cooper JCW launched: Why should you buy?

The newly launched high-performance model from MINI is positioned above the Cooper range. Called the MINI Cooper JCW, the vehicle gets a sport-tuned engine and aggressive cosmetic detailing. The sporty hatchback is available in multiple colour options and is available for a price of Rs 43.50 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). 

What’s good about it?

MINI has always been known to offer a wide range of personalization options to suit individual taste. Performance being the focus, the Cooper JCW gets a retuned 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine that produces 230bhp and 320Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that enables the vehicle to sprint from 0-100 in about six seconds. To deliver a perfect go-kart feeling, the Cooper JCW gets various driving modes, paddle shifters, and run-flat tyres.

What’s not so good?

The MINI Cooper JCW gets a stiffer suspension set up which will be ideal on a race track, however, the hatchback will be a little uncomfortable for road use. The low ground clearance can also be an issue on regular roads.
