Mini has launched the new 2020 Cooper JCW in India for a price of Rs 43.60 lakhs (ex-showroom). This is the latest version of the hottest Mini you can buy today and is available only in one top-of-the-line trim. It takes the CBU route to India.
Powering this pocket rocket is the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor as before. It produces 228bhp of raw power and a twisting force of 320Nm. The power is sent to front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. It is capable of doing a 0-100kmph sprint in 6.1 seconds.
In terms of appearance, the hot Mini looks as bonkers as before. It has got sporty bumpers, chunky 17-inch wheels, contrast coloured roof and mirrors with sporty accents and the JCW badge on the grille. This being a top-of-the-line Mini, it comes with all the bells and whistles the British carmaker has on its feature list. The cabin is an all-black affair with JCW inserts and of course, the famous JCW button on the centre console which can even alter the car’s exhaust note. Apart from that, there are a host of customisation packages on offer to make the Cooper JCW stand out from the rest of the Mini range.
In terms of competition, the Mini Cooper JCW goes up against the Volkswagen GTI in the hot hatch category. However the latter is almost half the price compared to the British hot hatch. Deliveries will commence from June.
