The new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe range is now on sale in the UK, with prices starting from £30,550 (Rs 27.84 lakhs) for the entry-level CLA 180 AMG Line. There's also the CLA 200, the CLA 220 4MATIC and the range-topping CLA 250 which is priced from £33,640 (Rs 30.65 lakhs).
The CLA 180 and CLA 200 both use a 1.3-litre petrol engine capable of producing 136bhp and 200Nm or 163hp and 250Nm respectively. Available in both two-wheel and four-wheel drive, the CLA 220 features a 2.0-litre petrol engine with an output of 190bhp and 300Nm. The petrol-powered CLA 250 – which uses a 2.0-litre engine makes 224bhp and 350Nm. All models will be initially available with a 7G-DCT seven-speed automatic transmission, with a manual gearbox coming later. The diesel-powered CLA 200 d and CLA 220 d will also be added to the line-up later in the year. The CLA Shooting Brake was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and will be going on sale in May.
AMG Line models come as standard with MBUX multimedia system, including voice recognition; 10.25-inch digital touchscreen infotainment display; seven-inch digital cockpit display; navigation with three years live services, headlights, keyless go, wireless charging, heated front seats, ambient lighting and lots more. AMG Line Premium trim adds a 10.25-inch digital cockpit display, augmented navigation, a dash cam and some more features.
AMG Line Premium Plus features all of the above equipment, and adds a panoramic sliding sunroof, LED headlights and adaptive highbeam assist plus, memory seats for the driver and front passenger.
Mercedes India is yet to introduce this all-new generation of the CLA in India. We expect this sporty sedan to be launched locally later this year.
