The Mercedes S-Class is known as the best car in the world, and not without reason: it is a good measure of the technology that you might see in most cars a few decades along. The new S-Class is nearly here, and Daimler chairman Dieter Zetsche has confirmed that it will be revealed on May 15 in Hamburg.
The upcoming S will go into production in August, and go on sale in September this year. By the time the year is out, you can have the V8-powered S550 and S63 AMG 4MATIC as well. That isn't the end of it; there will be three different wheelbase lengths, and a coupe and convertible on offer - hopefully it will not echo the Maybach Landaulet. With the Maybach brand being laid to rest, the S-Class can - and will - move more upmarket, with the possibility of the 'Pullman' name making a comeback for the most luxurious variant.
The S-Class will go on sale in India soon after the V6 diesel goes on sale worldwide. Even better news are the rumours that this new S will have four-cylinder options, which will be extremely fuel efficient; perfect for most Indian consumers, then.
