- Is the sixth-gen E-Class for India revealed earlier this month
- Will arrive with petrol and diesel mild-hybrid engines
Mercedes-Benz India unveiled the 2024 E-Class for the local market earlier this month. The German brand has now confirmed that the prices of this new-gen offering will be announced on 9 October. This will be followed by deliveries of the luxury sedan in the subsequent weeks.
The sixth generation E-Class, similar to its predecessor, will arrive in the LWB form and will be the only RHD market to get it in this guise. Expected to debut with a price tag of Rs. 80 lakh (ex-showroom), it will be offered in two variants – E 200 and E 220d.
Design highlights of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class include fresh LED headlamps, S-Class-inspired grille, flush-fitting door handles, dual-tone wheels, 3D star design LED taillights, and a rear quarter glass inspired by the Maybach range. The interior will boast four-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, soft-close doors, electric sun blinds for the rear occupants, ambient lighting, wireless chargers for both rows, 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS suite, and the optional Hyperscreen.
Under the hood, the E 200 will be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol mill developing 194bhp and 320Nm. The E 220d, on the other hand, will be propelled by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, diesel mill that produces 197bhp and 400Nm. A nine-speed automatic transmission and a 48V mild-hybrid system are offered across the range.
