- Fourth-gen Swift tested by Euro NCAP
- The new-gen car was launched in India in May this year
Euro NCAP has released a fresh set of crash test results, notable names of which include the new Suzuki Swift, 2024 Dacia Duster, new Skoda Kodiaq, and more. In this article, let us take a closer look at the result of the fourth-gen Swift.
According to the organisation, the 2024 Swift was awarded a three-star rating in the crash test. In this, it scored 67 per cent in adult occupant protection, 65 per cent in child occupant protection, 62 per cent in safety assist, and 76 per cent for vulnerable road users.
Safety features on this tested unit of the Swift included six airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners and load limiters, and a seatbelt reminder system. Further, it was equipped with Isofix child seat anchorage points in the second row and an ADAS suite. Notably, the passenger compartment of the car was rated as stable in the frontal offset test.
It is to be noted that the Swift sold in Europe is made in Japan, and hence bears little to no connection to the Swift sold in India. That said, the India-spec Swift boasts safety features in the form of six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, HSA, rear parking sensors, seatbelt reminder system, speed alert system, Isofix child seat anchorage points, and a few additional features via the Suzuki Connect technology. It remains to be seen if the new Swift will be tested by BNCAP in the coming months.
