Mahindra will soon introduce the upgraded Scorpio SUV which will get the new mild hybrid technology. The new version will sport the 'Intelli-Hybrid' badging and is expected to replace the current micro-hybrid system in the SUV.
The new 'Intelli-Hybrid' system in the new Scorpio will only be offered in a 2.2-litre diesel engine which generates 140bhp of power and 330Nm of torque. This means that potential customers in Delhi will not be able to get one. The new model is also expected to get a larger capacity battery and an integrated starter motor. The new technology in the upgraded Scorpio will have the ability to provide assistance to the engine in addition to the regular start-stop system seen in the past. However, this will not be an all-electric vehicle and will offer a mild electrical boost to the engine under certain driving conditions.
For Delhi, Mahindra will only have the downsized 1.99-litre Scorpio for now. Owing to the new technological upgrade, the upgraded version will be offering better fuel efficiency figures in comparison to the current generation. As for the interior, no major upgrade is expected for now. Additional details about the upgraded version will be known in the coming days.
