A new MPV from Mahindra has been snapped doing the rounds outside Chennai. This is a seven-seater vehicle and is noticeable for its Mahindra origins thanks to the grille. It is expected to get a new alphanumeric name and is likely to replace the Xylo in Mahindra’s passenger vehicle range.
From the photos we can see a low sloped bonnet, familiar Mahindra grille and logo as well as three rows of seating where row 3 has been covered off completely. This vehicle appears to be longer but lower than the Xylo. The rear has a hatch type opening but forward facing seats.
It is expected to be underpinned by the same ladder-on-frame platform found in the in Scorpio, Nuvosport and TUV300 but will get the 2.0-litre diesel unit from the XUV500 and possibly the new 1.5-litre petrol unit that will debut later this year.
