-Will sit above the Sonet in Kia’s lineup
-Likely to get a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine
Kia India has released the first teaser image of the Clavis B-SUV ahead of its launch, which is expected to take place in the coming months. The model, which will be positioned above the Sonet in the carmaker’s lineup, will be the seventh offering from the brand in the country after the Sonet, Seltos, Carens, Carnival, EV6, and the EV9.
As seen in the images here, the new Clavis will feature vertically stacked LED DRLs, flush-fitting door handles, front door-mounted ORVMs, roof rails, integrated spoiler, L-shaped two-piece LED taillights mounted on either side of the rear windscreen, and blacked-out C-pillars and ORVMs. According to Kia, the new SUV takes heavy inspiration from the recently launched models, including the EV9 and the Carnival.
Elsewhere, the 2025 Clavis is expected to come equipped with dual-tone alloy wheels, rear bumper-mounted number plate recess, dual-tone interior theme, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, large touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, and an ADAS suite.
Details regarding the technical specifications of the upcoming Kia Clavis are unknown at the moment. It could be offered with the brand’s 1.2-litre NA petrol engine paired with five-speed manual and AMT units. This motor, in its current state of tune, is offered in the Sonet and develops 82bhp and 115Nm of torque.
