- New-gen Carnival to be a CBU this time; for the initial period
- EV9 coming in a single fully loaded variant
Kia India is all set to reveal the prices of two new offerings for the local market tomorrow. The EV9 and the Carnival cars will arrive in the country via the CBU route. Additionally, the Carnival will take the CKD route, a move expected to happen in mid-2025. We have detailed both the car ahead of the launch and you can check out our video linked below.
Starting with the 2024 Carnival, it will be launched in the new-gen avatar and is expected to breach the Rs. 50 lakh price tag (ex-showroom). The 2.2-litre diesel engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission will be carried over, albeit with minor revisions to the output. It will get features like dual sunroofs, powered second-row doors, a Level 2 ADAS suite, a powered tailgate, adjustable second-row seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, all LED lighting, and 18-way power adjustable driver seat.
The Kia EV9 will be the brand's flagship electric offering in India and the most expensive product here. It will source power from a 99.8kWh battery pack paired with dual electric motors. Belting out 380bhp and 700Nm, it is claimed to return a range of 561km on a single full charge.
