What we have here are the latest shots of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler ahead of its official reveal later this year. This time around, our source managed to capture most of the new Wrangler range that will be sold throughout the next few years.
Contrary to earlier rumors, a soft-top will continue to be offered on two and four-door models alongside the optional three-piece removable hardtop. The European models will largely differ in trim and lights in order to meet regulations. A 3-litre V6 diesel is expected to replace the current 2.8-litre four cylinder model.
Design wise, the new Wrangler will resemble the outgoing one, but various aerodynamic tweaks will make it less upright. Jeep will make use of a fixed windshield and a slightly longer front end to make the new Wrangler more streamlined than the current car. Mechanical details are expected to include significant amounts of aluminum in the name of weight reduction. That being said, the body will be mostly made of steel.Â
We expect to see the four-door Unlimited on sale first by year's end, with production for the two-door models starting around January 1. The Wrangler is likely to be shown at the LA Auto Show in November.
