Jeep recently announced pricing and details of the new Renegade range, ahead of its launch in Europe next month. And with a starting price of £19,200 (Rs 17.25 lakh) for the Sport 1.0 GSE T3 120bhp version, the Renegade will compete with the likes of Ford EcoSport and Renault Captur in Europe.
Among the changes to the new Renegade include new front styling, improved fuel economy, updated interior with more storage, new LED headlights and alloy wheel options. New three and four-cylinder turbo petrol engines include a 1-litre unit delivering 120bhp and 190Nm of torque and a 1.3-litre delivering 150bhp or 180bhp and 270Nm of torque. The engine offering also includes the updated 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engines.
The engine range on the new Renegade can be paired with a six-speed manual, dual-clutch auto and nine-speed automatic transmissions. Moving onto the looks, the front-end design delivers a more modern look thanks to a new front fascia, which now sports a redesigned, cut-in silhouette 7-slot Jeep grille – similar to the Wrangler – new headlights and fog lights.
Depending on trim level, the new Jeep Renegade can be equipped with Uconnect 5-inch or Uconnect 8.4-inch system which include touchscreens and easy-to-use features, and a more powerful processor with improved response capability. Naturally, the Renegade will be offered in both front and all-wheel drive configurations.
