- New i20 Active spied testing in Delhi
- Will feature new styling and revised underpinnings
- Expected to be launched in India in February at Auto Expo 2020.
The next-generation 2020 Hyundai i20 Active was spied testing in Delhi recently. The i20 Active is the crossover version of the Elite i20 and features beefier bodywork to differentiate itself from the regular model.
The new Hyundai i20 Active, similar to the Elite i20, will get updated underpinnings and a new exterior and interior design. The car is expected to be slightly wider and taller, and may also get a longer wheelbase. The test mule, seen here, gets roof rails and LED taillights. Styling will be largely similar to the new Hyundai Elite i20, which was spotted testing in Europe recently.
Under the hood, the new Hyundai i20 Active will continue to be powered by 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines. However, these will be BS-VI compliant from launch. There's also speculation about it getting a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor that might be paired to a DCT transmission.
The new-generation i20 Active and the Elite i20 are expected to be launched in India at the 2020 Auto Expo in February. Being BS-VI compliant means prices will go up slightly, compared to the current models.
