The newly launched Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is available in 10 trims and two engine options. Both the engine options are available in five-speed manual transmission and AMT option. The new-generation model, the Grand i10 Nios is available with a BS-6 compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine, while the diesel variant gets a BS-4 compliant 1.2-litre engine. At the time of launch, we learnt that Hyundai is likely to introduce a BS-6 compliant 1.2-litre diesel engine in January 2020, a couple of months before the April 2020 deadline set by the government.
Hyundai has not commented on the possibility of a price hike post the introduction of a BS-6 compliant diesel version. However, we can expect a marginal hike over the current price. The newly launched Hyundai Grand i10 Nios boasts of offering the segment-first 20.25cm touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, voice recognition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the car also offers a wireless phone charger and Arkamys sound system with four modes - Natural, Live, Lounge and Club.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios claims to deliver impressive fuel efficiency figures. As per ARAI figures, the petrol manual returns a fuel efficiency figure of 20.7kmpl, while the automatic returns 20.5kmpl. The 1.2-litre diesel manual and automatic return the same fuel efficiency figure of 26.2kmpl.
