- The new Creta is expected to be similar to the China-spec Hyundai ix25.
- It is likely to get the same engine/gearbox combinations as the Kia Seltos.
- The new Hyundai Creta could launch in India by mid-2020.
The next-generation Hyundai Creta was spotted testing in India for the first time. The new-gen Creta debuted as the Hyundai ix25 in China at the 2019 Shanghai Motor Show in April. We can expect the new Creta to launch in India sometime next year.
Unlike the current-gen model, which carries a traditional SUV design, the new Hyundai Creta has gone for a crossover design philosophy. That said, the India-spec Creta will feature a chequered grille similar to the Venue. The car will feature a two-tier headlamp design, a large cascading grille and a redesigned bumper upfront. The side profile will feature new 17-inch alloys while the rear end is completely redesigned with LED taillights and a new bumper.
Interiors of the India-spec Hyundai Creta have not been revealed yet, but it is safe to assume that it will get an all-new cabin. That said, we can confirm that it will feature an Audi-like virtual cockpit. What’s more, it will also get a range of all-new petrol and diesel engines that will be shared with the Kia Seltos. So, expect it to get 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines and a 1.4-litre TGDi petrol motor.
The Creta is already a feature-packed SUV, and we can expect it to come with the Hyundai Blue Link connectivity features, 360-degree surround-view camera, TPMS, head-up display and the likes. The new Hyundai Creta will compete against the likes of the Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster Tata Harrier and the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross. It is expected to fall under the price bracket of Rs 10-16 lakhs (ex-showroom).
