The fourth-generation Honda Jazz will make its official debut at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. The new Jazz has been under testing for almost a year now, and spy images have revealed that it will receive completely new styling.
The new Honda Jazz features a more rounded design, and it gets a large glasshouse. The new Jazz will be based on an all-new platform, which will also underpin the new-gen Honda City. It will be longer and wider than the outgoing model and will come equipped with Honda’s new twin-motor i-MMD hybrid system.
Under the hood, it will be powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit and a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated motor. What’s more, there will be a Type R variant as well, which will be powered by a 1.5-litre direct-injection, turbo-petrol engine that will develop a maximum power of 217bhp and 245Nm.
The new Jazz is expected to make its way into the Indian market sometime in 2020. It will rival against the likes of the Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Glanza and the upcoming Tata Altroz.
