The upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September will play host to the public debut of several new cars including the refreshed Honda Jazz. While this isn’t an entirely new model, Honda claims to have made crucial updates to the interior trim and revised the exterior look. Here’s a brief look at this upcoming hatchback.
Beginning with the revised design, the changes made to the exterior have aligned the Jazz with the latest Honda family design language, incorporating the 'Solid Wing Face' headlight and grille.
The front bumper is also different with more aggressive contours around the air vents. At the rear, the shallower grille sections are linked together by a gloss black trim strip above a trapezoid lower section.
Updates to the exteriors are rounded off by the addition of metallic blue as a new colour option. Nonetheless, the Jazz retains its MPV-like profile, making it extremely practical and spacious.
Under the hood, the biggest update comes in the form of a new 1.5-litre petrol engine. It can be paired to an optional CVT transmission which has been revised to deliver a more linear response.
The 130bhp 1.5-litre motor is offered as part of a new Dynamic grade, which adds a thinner front splitter and triple-strake diffuser to the rear bumper, both featuring red accents.
The interiors, on the other hand, feature a pinstripe pattern on the upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, all of which are enhanced by orange stitch lines.
The Jazz retains the versatility of the previous model, including a boot space of 354 litres (which can go up to 897 litres with the rear seats folded down) and the Magic Seat configuration to store tall items.
Standard equipment includes cruise control, automatic headlights, a 7-inch infotainment system, rear-view camera, keyless entry and start, Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning.
Honda has revealed that the bookings for the Jazz will open across Europe from November, with the deliveries starting in early 2018. Honda India, meanwhile, will continue to sell the existing model.
