The new generation Hyundai Grand i10 was spied testing, earlier today, on the outskirts of Pune. This rival to the Maruti Suzuki Swift will be launched in India towards the end of 2019.
The 2020 Grand i10 will pack more features than the current model and will likely be based on an updated platform that also underpins the Hyundai Venue. It also means the new Grand i10 will come with Hyundai Blue Link connectivity features and internet connectivity via an eSim.
The 2020 Hyundai Grand i10 will be longer and wider, and it will be roomier on the inside. We can also expect it to have a slightly longer wheelbase. Up front, it will feature a wide cascading grille, new headlamps and redesigned front bumper. Changes to the rear will be limited to a set of LED taillights and a new bumper. On the inside, the 2020 Grand i10 will get an updated cabin and slim seats to excavate more space.
The new Grand i10 will feature a BS-VI compliant 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine. However, with customer sentiments towards diesel cars on the wane now, and the potential higher costs of developing a BS-VI diesel, we aren't sure whether the 2020 Grand i10 will get a BS-VI diesel motor. The new Hyundai Grand i10 will rival against the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo.
