- Second-generation M4 CS
- Twin-turbo inline-six petrol engine
BMW is upping its ante in the two-door sports car range by bringing the M4 CS to India. The car will be officially unveiled on 4 October with a pricing announcement at the same time. Given the nature of the car, we expect the CBU route and limited allocation for the Indian market.
This is the second-generation M4 CS and moves to the new BMW design language of sharper lines, a bigger grille and angular headlights with yellow inserts that give the car an aggressive look when viewed from the dead-front angle. Inside its BMW business as usual with a minimalist dashboard and a rectangular steering wheel. However, this being an M you get carbon fibre racing buckets, M badging all around with a special CS badging built into the headrests.
The party piece in the M4 CS is BMW’s 3.0-litre inline-six petrol engine producing 550bhp with a 0-100kmph time of 3.4 seconds. The only transmission on offer is the BMW eight-speed AT and this has been paired with an M-specific xDrive system. We expect pricing to be upwards of Rs. 1.5 crore and rivals the likes of the Audi RS5, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and the upcoming Maserati Gran Turismo.
