Kia India is gearing up to launch the updated version of its premium MPV, the Carnival in the country. Ahead of the 3 October debut, the carmaker has announced the commencement of the official -pre-bookings of the new-gen Carnival, which is scheduled for 16 September, 2024. The flagship all-electric EV9 will also make its Indian debut alongside the Carnival.
The new and updated Kia Carnival will likely be offered in a single top-spec version with an extensive feature list. some of the features will include a dual single-pane electric sunroof, twin 12.3-inch displays for the infotainment and the instrument panel, powered and ventilated front seats, powered rear doors, 360-degree surround camera with blind spot monitor, multi-zone climate control, premium music system, and a Level 2 ADAS suite.
Mechanically, the new Kia Carnival will continue with the same 2.2-litre diesel engine coupled with an automatic gearbox. In this state of tune, the Carnival will have a power output of 197bhp and 440Nm of peak torque.
As for the prices, considering the new Carnival's CBU arrangements, the cost of the premium MPV is set to go up to Rs. 45 lakh to Rs. 50 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its launch, the new Kia Carnival will compete against the Toyota Innova Hycross, MG Gloster, and the Jeep Meridian.
