We brought to you the exclusive images of the upcoming new-gen Hyundai Santa Fe spotted winter testing a few days back. Now, the Korean carmaker has dropped a teaser image of the SUV showcasing the silhouette of the car ahead of its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show this March.
The Santa Fe will enter into its fourth-generation this time. The Korean SUV is expected to grow in size with a seating for eight with the generation change. It will become more rugged in an effort to compete against rivals like the Toyota Kluger and Nissan Pathfinder. Although it is tough to recognize in the teaser and was handsomely concealed on the test mule, the headlights appear to adopt the sleek Kona-like sweptback design. The signature Cascading-grille will continue to be the imposing feature of the fascia.
More importantly, Hyundai promises that the new Santa Fe will come with something called Rear Occupant Alert system. The first of a kind safety system can monitor the rear seats and alert the driver when the driver is about to leave the car. This is to prevent leaving a child or a pet locked inside the car by careless drivers. Apart from it, there will be an upgraded cross-traffic collision warning system with the automated braking system as another added driver aid for the ‘soccer moms’.
There are no powertrain details revealed yet, however, the current range of petrol and diesel engines are expected to be carried forward. Inside the cabin, things will be refreshed as well with added features and comforts to keep up with its direct rivals. Hyundai will reveal more details and images of the cars next month before the public debut at the Geneva stage. There will be a realignment of the model depending on the seating capacity and the wheelbase when the actual car arrives. Expect the Indian debut of the new Santa Fe once the SUV goes on sale in international markets.
