Ford dealers in the country had unofficially started accepting bookings for the new Endeavour last week at a token amount of Rs 1 lakh. According to latest reports, the facelifted model has now started arriving at dealerships ahead of its launch in the country. Changes in the new model are expected to be limited to cosmetic upgrades.
The Endeavour facelift from Ford will get newly designed headlamps with longer LED DRLs, a new front grille and new fog lamp surround with silver cladding on the lower half of the front bumper. This popular SUV will ride on newly designed 20-inch alloy wheels. As for the interior, the new model will get premium upholstery along with more features like an electric sunroof, premium upholstery, parking sensor with a camera, power mirrors, power seats and more. The vehicle will also be offered with a push-button start/stop function and the infotainment system will be upgraded to Ford SYNC 3.
The Ford Endeavour facelift will be available in two diesel engine options – 2.2-litre and 3.2-litre. The 2.2-litre, four-cylinder engine generates 157bhp of power and 385Nm of peak torque, while the 3.2-litre, five-cylinder engine generates 196bhp and 470Nm. Currently, both the cars are available with a six-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and with the new upgrade, the smaller engine is expected to be offered with an optional manual transmission. The bigger engine, on the other hand, will continue to be offered with AWD option. It is also speculated that the lower variant might be offered with a 2.0-litre 180bhp turbocharged diesel option.
