The new Ford Endeavour (Everest for Malaysia) was slated to have entered the Malaysian market in November 2015 and though it’s December, the car is yet to be launched.
In the midst of the wait, the Everest was just spotted undisguised and sporting trade plates. This could indicate that a Malaysia launch is perhaps finally around the corner. That said, it is highly unlikely that the car could hit showrooms before the year ends. Seen in the picture are two Everest SUVs; the white one in the foreground is claimed to be the base 2.2-litre 4×2 variant. This version can be identified by the smaller wheels and the absence of the “Titanium” badge at the rear. The red Everest in the background could turn out to be the top of the line 3.2-litre 4×4 “Titanium” version, with the visibly larger 20-inch alloys.
Pricing for the Everest is speculated to range from 180,000 to 240,000 Malaysian Ringgits (Rs 27.7-36.9 lakh). With the Ringgit’s value depreciating further, it’s likely that prices will end up even higher than expected. Ford India has revealed that launch information for the Endeavour will be released early next year, so remember to stay tuned to CarWale for details.
