The next generation Jeep Wrangler is expected to be unveiled later this year at the 2017 LA Auto Show and ahead of its arrival, new details of the SUV have emerged from a Jeep dealers meet in the US.Â
The first and biggest detail is that this new Jeep will be that it will become a longer vehicle with additional space going to the rear seats. It is also believed that the two door variant will be discontinued making the Wrangler a four-door model. In addition, some variants are also expected to get an automatic sliding hardtop. The new technology list is expected to include a start/stop system as well as button start across the range. The colour list too will expand to include new shades like blue, yellow and silver.   Â
The car is expected to be launched with the 3.6-litre Pentastar petrol motor with the diesel options coming in at a later date. This new car is likely to get new underpinnings making it lighter than the outgoing model significantly.
This new Wrangler is India bound and possibly at the end of 2018. It will be offered here with both petrol and diesel engine options.
