- Basalt prices in India start at Rs. 7.99 lakh
- Available with two engine and transmission options
Citroen announced the price of the base variant of the Basalt coupe SUV, which stands at Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). While we wait for the automaker to reveal the prices for the complete variant lineup, let us take a closer look at the base variant.
As seen in the images here, the base version of the Citroen Basalt, in the 1.2 You trim, gets features such as split headlamps, halogen headlamps, and steel wheels without any wheel covers. Also up for offer are blacked-out skid plates and door handles. The ORVMs also receive a matte black finish. Notably, it misses out on alloy wheels, LED projector headlamps, silver finish for the skid plates, door and wheel cladding, fog lights, and a shark-fin antenna.
The interior of the Citroen Basalt base variant comes equipped with a digital, coloured instrument console, front power windows, three-spoke steering wheel, black and grey upholstery, front tweeters and speakers, 12V port, front cup holders, and headrests for all five occupants. Notable features that it skips when compared to the top-spec Max variant include a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls, three-step adjustable thigh support for the second row, flip key, wireless charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and powered ORVMs.
The Citroen Basalt is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine in naturally aspirated and turbocharged formats. The base variant here uses the former and is paired only with a six-speed manual transmission. The higher-spec variant also gets the option of a six-speed automatic transmission. We have driven the Basalt coupe SUV, and our review is live on the website.
