Car sales during summers are usually slack as new car buyers usually wait for the festive season or might have already purchased one during the financial year end due to lucrative discounts. For the ones who are looking to buy a new car but are waiting for discounts, here below are a few car manufacturers who are offering selective models at discounted prices in the country.
Maruti Suzuki
The country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is offering lucrative discounts across models like – the Alto K10, Celerio, WagonR, Ignis, and the premium sedan, the Ciaz. The comparatively newer 1.0-litre option has been a popular seller in its segment, while the sales for the smaller engine option has been dropping in recent times. Competing against the likes of the Eon and the Alto 800, the Kwid is a modest offering which is powered by a 0.8-litre three-cylinder engine that generates 54bhp of power and 72Nm of torque.
Honda
Japanese car manufacturer Honda is offering heavy discounts across its product line up in India. The Brio attracts benefits of up to Rs 24,000 while the Amaze attracts discounts of up to Rs 40,000. From the premium lot, the Tiguan and the Passat are both offered with discounts of up to Rs 1.20 lakhs. Owing to the diesel controversy and lack of freshness in terms of product upgrades, the sales for the company has slowed down in India.
Hyundai
Speaking of discounts, Korean car manufacturer Hyundai is offering benefits of up to Rs 61,500 on the Eon. The new Xcent sedan offers benefits of up to Rs 87,000 on the petrol variant while the diesel version attracts benefits of up to Rs 88,500. Conclusion
It is worth noting that most of the car models which are on offer have been witnessing a drop in sales in recent times. Unsold stock and arrival of new models post the Auto Expo event in the country has prompted car manufacturers to push for sales during summers especially because the demand is low around this period.
