As we move towards the end of this year, two big guns from the Indian automotive industry, Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki will be launching their respective car models in the country. The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is due for launch in India on 21 November, while the Mahindra Y400 is due for launch on 19 November. Read below to find out more about them –
Mahindra Y400
The upcoming Y400 premium SUV is essentially the G4 Ssangyong Rexton that is based on the G4 Ssangyong Rexton. The car gets a different name in India with a Mahindra badging. The vehicle will be built at the Chakan factory. The SUV is expected to be powered by a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox to generate 187bhp of power. The vehicle will be sold at a separate premium section of Mahindra dealerships.
New Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
The upcoming new Maruti Ertiga was unveiled for the Malaysian market earlier this year. The new model will be based on the Heartect platform. The new Ertiga MPV will get a new 1.5-litre petrol that generates 103bhp of power and 138Nm of torque with a five-speed manual as standard and four-speed automatic as optional. The diesel version gets a 1.3-litre diesel that generates 90bhp of power and 190Nm of torque.
