The end of the current calendar year is just around the corner but the final month will bring along a spur of launches across the board. There are multiple cars to look forward to, be it in the sub-four-metre-SUV, sub-four-metre sedan, B-SUV, or a few other segments.
Skoda Kylaq
Although Skoda has announced the price of the entry-level variant of the Kylaq, the carmaker will start accepting bookings of the model and announce the variant-wise prices on 2 December. The sub-four-metre SUV will rival the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Nissan Magnite, and the Renault Kiger.
The Kylaq will be powered by a 1.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine paired with manual and automatic gearboxes. It will come equipped with features, including an electric sunroof, LED projector headlamps, ventilated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and the signature Virtual Cockpit.
New Honda Amaze
Short on the heels of the Kylaq’s arrival will be the new-generation Honda Amaze, scheduled to debut on 4 December. The model has already been spotted at multiple dealer facilities, revealing all the key details and features of the updated sub-four-metre sedan.
Changes to the exterior design of the 2024 Amaze include new front and rear bumpers, projector headlamps and integrated LED DRLs, new grille, fresh set of dual-tone alloy wheels, three-spoke steering wheel, new freestanding touchscreen unit, USB Type-C charging ports, and an ADAS suite. The model will continue to source power from the 1.2-litre petrol motor paired with manual and CVT transmissions.
New Toyota Camry
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) will introduce the ninth-gen Camry in the Indian market on 11 December. The model will get a new exterior design and a heavily updated feature set. It is expected to be offered in a single fully loaded variant.
Underpinned by the brand’s TNGA-K platform, the new Camry will be propelled by a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine with a hybrid motor paired to an e-CVT unit. The combined power output is rated at 222bhp in the FWD guise, while the AWD version belts out 229bhp.
Kia Syros
Kia India will pull the covers off the new Syros B-SUV on 19 December. The model, which will sit between the Sonet and the Seltos, is the carmaker’s fourth budget offering for the local market. Notably, this will also mark the global debut of the rival to the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, Maruti Fronx, and more.
The upcoming car from the Korean automotive brand has been teased on multiple occasions, thus giving out key details. The model will feature a panoramic sunroof, vertically stacked three-pod LED headlamps, L-shaped LED DRLs and taillights, flush-fitting door handles, roof-rails, and front door-mounted ORVMs. Technical specifications remain scarce, although the model is expected to receive a 1.2-litre NA petrol motor and a 1.5-litre diesel mill paired with manual and automatic transmissions.
