The festive season is just around the corner and customers who plan to purchase cars have a lot to look forward to. The next month will witness the arrival of models across segments, price brackets, fuel options, and more.
New-gen Kia Carnival
The new Kia Carnival has kept its potential buyers in a long wait, right since the time it was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. Kia has finally confirmed the arrival of the updated premium MPV on 3 October.
The 2024 Carnival will get an all-new design, signature powered sliding rear doors, and only a seven-seat layout. The powertrain will remain unchanged, although there is a minor revision in the power figures. Feature highlights include two electric sunroofs, Level 2 ADAS suite, eight airbags, dual digital screens, powered tailgate, HUD, wireless charger, and electrically adjustable second-row seats.
All-new Kia EV9
Joining the new Kia Carnival on 3 October will be the EV9 flagship electric SUV. To debut in a single fully loaded GT Line variant, it will have all the bells and whistles as the international-spec car. Some of them include OTA updates, digital key, Level 2 ADAS suite, reclining third-row seats, second-row seats with ventilation, massage and electric adjustment functions, and an 18-way adjustable driver seat.
Propelling the EV9 will be a 99.8kWh battery pack with two electric motors generating an output of 380bhp and 700Nm. The car has an ARAI-certified range of 561km on a single full charge.
Short on the heels of the Kia siblings will be the unveiling and price announcement of the facelifted Nissan Magnite on 4 October. A significant update for Nissan’s bread-and-butter model in the Indian market, it will get a design overhaul alongside a revision to the feature list.
Under the hood, the Magnite will soldier on with the same 1.0-litre petrol engine in naturally aspirated and turbocharged forms. The transmission options including five-speed manual, AMT, and CVT units are expected to remain untouched as well.
BYD eMax 7
The BYD eMax7, which is essentially a facelift for the e6 in India, will bring along a host of updates for the car that started the brand’s innings in the country. The car, to be launched on 8 October, will now look sharper, courtesy of new LED headlamps, fresh alloy wheels, and a nip-and-tuck update for the front and rear bumpers. Also up for offer will be revised LED taillights. We have detailed the changes to the interior too, and you can read about it on our website.
There could be a minor change under the skin too, with the 71.7kWh battery pack making way for a 71.8kWh unit, thus resulting in an increase of 30km in the overall range. The power output too could be bumped up to 204bhp and 310Nm.
New-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class
One of the most important models for Mercedes-Benz in India is the E-Class, and this luxury sedan is set to get a comprehensive update with the arrival of the sixth-gen car on 9 October. The car will be offered in the E200 and E 220d guise, powered by 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engines paired with a mild-hybrid system.
The new E-Class will boast an all-new exterior design, and in terms of features, it will receive a panoramic sunroof, soft-close doors, four-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS suite, electric sun blinds for the second row, wireless charging in both rows, and ambient lighting. Also up for offer will be the optional MBUX Hyperscreen.
