-High performance SUV to take on the GLC63 AMG, Audi RSQ3 and Jaguar F-Pace R Sport
-3.0-litre twin-turbo Inline six-cylinder with AWD
-Possible India launch in 2020
The BMW X3 M has been leaked onto the interweb ahead of an expected reveal later this year. As the name suggests (and has been the case for many years now), the X3 M is a high performance version in the X3 range of SUVs and will sit right at the top of the range's hierarchy. The leaked image appears to be from the infotainment system of the new X3.
In that typical, BMW fashion, the visual upgrades from the standard car are not all that much. You still get the silhouette and overall shape of the new generation X3 but with a sporty bumper, massive M spec alloy wheels and obviously that M badge at the rear. Although not visible now, the real car is expected to bear the M division's signature coloured stripes on the grille. Also seen in the leaked image is the instrument cluster of the X3 M. It’s the same as the other standard BMWs but with an M badge.
This X3 M is expected to be offered with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-6 producing at least 475bhp. It’s expected to come with AWD and the obvious M spec upgrades to match the image and performance of the vehicle. When launched, it will rival the Mercedes-Benz GLC63AMG, Audi RSQ3 and even the Jaguar F-Pace R Sport.
